Software Grant Program

This program provides software produced by The American Sign Language Project to accredited and/or licensed organizations that have any of the following:

  • An Interpreter Training program
  • A staff that serves a population that uses sign language as the perferred form of communication
  • A Deaf education program
The software will be provided under a limited licensing agreement and free of charge if it is being used for one of the following:
  • Helping Interpreter Training students increase their receptive and/or productive skills in signing.
  • Improving the signing skills of staff, volunteers or parents who communicate with the Deaf or those who use sign language as their preferred form of communication.
  • Teaching deaf children to read
 

Evaluation Criteria

Each application will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the planned use and the level of institutional support.
