  1. Does Fingerspelling Tutor run on a Mac?

    If your Apple machine has an Intel processor and is running Parallels or Apple Bootcamp, then Fingerspelling Tutor will run.

  2. Will Fingerspelling Tutor run on my Mac?

    First, determine your computer's processor type. From support.apple.com/kb/ht1531:

       1.In the Finder, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu.
       2.Look at the Processor line to see which kind of processor is in your Mac.

    If the processor is an Intel, you will need to install Parallels or Apple Bootcamp. If the processor is a PowerPC, which is the case for most Apple computers shipped before 2005, then Fingerspelling Tutor will not run on your computer.

  3. I tried installing but the installer said I don't have permission.

    You need administrator privileges to install Fingerspelling Tutor.

  4. When I tried to install, I got an error "The Windows Installer Service Cannot update the system file"

    Go ahead and click the "OK" button. The Fingerspelling Tutor will complete the installation correctly.

  5. When I tried to install, I got a message "cannot update C:\windows\system32\itss.dll"

    Go ahead and click the "OK" button. The Fingerspelling Tutor installer wizard will successfully complete the installation.

  6. When I tried to install, I got a message "scrrun.dll couldn't be updated."

    Go ahead and click the "OK" button. The Fingerspelling Tutor will complete the installation successfully.

  7. When it starts up, Fingerspelling Tutor asks me for a license. Where do I get that?

    The current version of Fingerspelling Tutor does not require a license. You have an out-of-date copy of the software. Go to fingerspellingtutor.com/download.htm to get a current version.

  8. I tried running Fingerspelling Tutor, but I get an error about drivers.

    Make sure that you've installed Windows Media Player and run it at least once. It's a free download, if you don't already have it installed. See windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/windows-media-player

  9. I'm using Windows 7, and have Windows Media Player installed, but I get an error about video drivers.

    An alternative is to install Windows XP Mode and Virtual PC. See www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc for more details. Install Fingerspelling Tutor on the virtual PC you create.

  10. I installed Fingerspelling Tutor on an XP virtual machine, but I'm getting an error about video drivers.

    You will need to install Windows Media Player on your Virtual PC and and run it at least once.
